Fair FAQs

Fair is an ethical, digital banking and financial services membership created to put people over profit and help you keep more of your hard-earned money.
Retailers offer memberships to access wholesale prices. Fair applies the same concept to banking and finance, so you can keep more of your money. When you become a Fair member, you unlock unlimited access to our services with an upfront cost— no hidden or extra fees down the road.
Ethical banking and financial services essentially means that we’re putting people over our business profit. We are upfront about our membership model and we don’t charge hidden fees. Additionally, Fair practices socially responsible investing (SRI), an approach to investing that reduces exposure to companies that are deemed to have a negative social impact, such as companies that profit from poor labor standards, harmful products, or environmental devastation. Fair also practices environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) investing measures with a focus on the sustainability of an investment and its overall impact. And, we donate 2.5% of our profit to refugee causes globally.

The Founders Circle is open to a select group who will be the first members of Fair. Founders Circle members will need a referral code to unlock access to Fair. 

Your Fair deposit accounts are FDIC-insured up to $250,000 per depositor through Coastal Community Bank, Member FDIC.

Online banking with Fair is for members only. 

You do not have to be a citizen or permanent U.S. resident to be a Fair member. You can be a visitor living in the U.S. or an international student.

Fair offers online banking and financial services on your mobile device or anywhere you have web access. Fair members can visit any major bank in the U.S. to make cash withdrawals and use over 55,000 Allpoint ATMs with no fee. ATMs not included in the Allpoint network may include fees assessed by the third-party ATM provider. 

No. You can have a $0 balance for 90 days before your account will be put “on hold.” As a Fair member, you can reinstate your account at any time by making a deposit or transferring funds into the account.

Yes. Fair offers live customer support for our members. Just log into your account to contact us.

Fair is currently available in English, and we’ll be available in Spanish next. We’ll be offering other languages soon. Stay tuned to @bankwithfair on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for updates.

Monthly and annual membership can be cancelled with a 30-day notice. Paid membership fees are non-refundable. Any outstanding funds in your accounts will be returned to you after the account is closed.
